The Daniel Fast is based on the stories in The Book of Daniel, Bible. Prophet Daniel reduced his diet for long periods in two examples, abstaining from gluttonous foods such as meat, bread, and wine, and consuming only water and simple plant-based foods (probably carrots, lentils, and beans). Grains to Eat on Daniel Fast:

Barley, amaranth, millet, quinoa, steel oats, brown rice, black beans, kidney beans, lentils, pinto beans, split peas, black-eyed peas, mung beans as beans legumes and grains.

Nuts to Eat on Daniel Fast:

Almonds, cashews, chia seeds, flaxseeds pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts as nuts.
As the liquid, only water and fresh vegetable juices are allowed.

A quinoa salad ingredients for instance:

  • 2 cups quinoa (cooked, about 1 cup uncooked)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1/2 cucumber (chopped)
  • 1 cup chickpeas (boiled)
  • 1/2 red onion (small, finely chopped)
